Top foods you should eat during phase 2 of a hCG detox diet

The hcg diet has been around since 1950 but the original plan was extremely restricted with food choices and non-compliant rules.

The team at DETOX26 lead by co-founders Paul and Jennifer Whalland, have broken these rules and brought the outdated program into the 21st Century with allowing you to mix your vegetables, and offering an extensive food list which has been tried and tested. These foods are nourishing and will give your body the essential vitamins and minerals it needs to support your body during the 26-day detox program.

The standard rules of calorie restrictions remain, but we don’t advocate for grissini sticks or melba toasts. We would prefer you to enjoy quality cuts of protein and larger servings of vegetables.

Here are our top 12 favourite foods that we enjoy during our DETOX26 fat burning and detox program for optimal fat burning results.

Protein on hCG Diet

Chicken Breast

Chicken is a great staple to help shed body fat and improve your body composition Although chicken comes in many cuts including breasts, thighs, wings and drumsticks, each cut contains a different number of calories and proportion of protein to fat. The darker the meat, the higher the fat/calorie breakdown.

To get the most from your hcg diet, we recommend you include up to 4 servings of Chicken breast per week as it is the leanest protein choice containing a large 31 grams of protein per 100 grams serve and zero carbs.

Salmon

Salmon is a potent source of omega 3 fats which help fight inflammation and keep your cells healthy. Eating fish twice a week is a great way to improve your heart health. Some research also has shown that omega-3 fats has the potential to help slow cognitive problems and age-related cognitive decline.

Eggs

The humble egg is delicious and incredibly nutritious. Eggs are often referred to as nature’s multivitamin and they are one of the healthiest foods you can eat. Prawns

Another great source of high quality protein which also contain some of the most important vitamins and minerals that make up a healthy diet. Prawns are very low in calories with roughly 115 calories per 100 grams serve (about 5 medium peeled prawns).

It’s important to consume protein from varied sources. Prawns nutrition makes them a great source of protein as they have less saturated fat and more vitamins than other protein sources. An example is that prawns have almost 22 times as much vitamin E as beef and 19 times as much as chicken.
